Weaving Art within Architecture
‘A Building does not stand on its own, it adds to its Surrounding’. At Social Weavers, we carefully analyze how contemporary life is constantly changing and evolving, due to the influences of our Multicultural world. This growth of life and space in Urban India requires a comprehensive index to be developed, through which we can understand the needs of the community.
Moving forward the role of architecture will evolve into a more comprehensive field that will emulsify design with social and environmental responsibility. At Social Weavers, we are committed to conducting business with social responsibility and material sensibility.
‘A Space is a sum of its Surroundings’. Social Weavers is about weaving the space between buildings and not just within setback lines. The design of the total built environment, from macro level of town planning, urban design and landscape, to micro level of creating furniture's, needs to be holistically and feasibly addressed by architectural design.
Hence making it cost effective and user friendly. We want to improve the public realm by enhancing the connections to and transitions between buildings and modes of transportation. Thereby adding a uniqueness to the space and society.
‘You don't just design a building but the entire Atmosphere’. Architecture is a holistic approach to space, it merges the man-made structures (like building and pavings), with the natural landscape (like landform, water body, and greenery) of the property. By applying artistic and scientific principles into the planning, design, and management, one can preserve and rehabilitate the natural and the built environments. Not just beautify but create a space where the ambiance will usher in a lifestyle that the public can enjoy.
Developing a landscape plan in conjunction with the architectural drawings assures the client a better building experience. It ensures better organization, superior end result, and significant cost savings. A building is larger than brick and mortar, it's an ecological footprint that exists in an environmental framework.
‘Architecture is not just art, it’s a lesson in History’. Traditional art continues to be popular as they depict a part of the history and values of a particular region. Man has used these art forms to decorate his habitats from time immemorial. This creative process gives meaning to built spaces. In the ancient East and West cultures well into the 18th century, architecture, sculpture and painting were intertwined with each other. It is only in recent times that a disconnection has taken place between these institutes.
It is time to revive traditional art in architecture. To bring about a balanced integration of artistic sensibility into our structures through utilizing lateral and linear thinking. By understanding the surrounding context from an environmental, historical, stylistical and infrastructural perspective we can determine program areas required by users such as interiors, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technological, security systems and structural integration.
We believe this is the way forward to creating breathtakingly beautiful architecture. By uplifting local artisans and art forms, we head a step towards protecting and regaining our traditional craftsmanship in carpentry, welding, glasswork, stone work etc. This is also what makes the study and practice of architecture such a collaborative, complex and interesting endeavour.
